Taken over by the Admiralty in November 1935.
Displacement: 641 tons.
Armament: 1 4" gun.
Sunk by German aircraft off North Foreland, Kent, England on 5 February 1941.
There is a book entitled 'Dawn Will Always Break' by Allan Lansley Waller. In the book the author describes his experiences on HMS Tourmaline and how he managed to survive her sinking. More remarkably my uncle FRED, referred to as ‘Stoker HOLROYD’, is mentioned in regard to these events.
