There is a book entitled 'Dawn Will Always Break' by Allan Lansley Waller. In the book the author describes his experiences on HMS Tourmaline and how he managed to survive her sinking. More remarkably my uncle FRED, referred to as ‘Stoker HOLROYD’, is mentioned in regard to these events. It tells how he was covered in boiling oil when the ship was hit by a torpedo, also when admitted to hospital ,how the officer told the doctors to 'See to Holroyd first', he was in such a poorly state.
